Accutane Lawsuit

Many patients have recently filed an Accutane Lawsuit for many different reasons.  Accutane is used to treat severe acne and can cause many major side effects.  There have been over 5,000 lawsuits already filed against the producer of Accutane, Roche Pharmaceuticals due to the serious side effects linked to the drug.

Accutane has been linked to Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease, and Inflammatory Bowel disease along with many other side effects.  If you have taken Accutane and you have been diagnosed with any of the serious side effects, you may want to consider filing an Accutane Lawsuit as well.

Many have been treated with Accutane due to the major ingredient, Vitamin A in a synthetic form, which can alleviate the most severe acne.  The problem is many dermatologists prescribed the drug in treatment of mild acne instead of just severe acne.   This can actually cause more side effects than benefits to the patient.

The Side Effects Causing the Accutane Lawsuit

There are many minor and major side effects being linked to this drug and it is very important to understand all of the risks before taking Accutane.  Here are all of the known side effects causing the Accutane lawsuit to become so prevalent.

Severe Side Effects Responsible for the Accutane Lawsuit

- Liver Damage

- Crohn’s Disease

- Ulcerative colitis

- Birth Defects

- Suicidal tendencies

- Inflammatory Bowel disease

- Severe depression

- Many different allergic reactions

Some of the less severe, but still serious side effects of Accutane

- Brittle nails

- Severe headaches

- Hair loss or thinning hair

- Diarrhea

- Heavy or irregular periods

- Muscle pain and fatigue

- Impetigo, Pyogenic Granuloma, and Paronychia

- Slow-healing cuts and unusual bruising

- Thinning of the skin

- Genital, Nose, and Lip dryness (can become very severe)

If there is a history of depression within your family it is recommended to avoid taking Accutane because it will put you at a much higher risk of depression.  It is also recommended for women to use proper birth control or abstain from intercourse while taking Accutane because it can cause major birth defects if pregnancy occurs.

Those suffering from any of the severe side effects, specifically Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) may be eligible to file an Accutane Lawsuit.  These gastrointestinal complications are the major reasons for the filing of a suit against the manufacturer and they are a serious matter.

Some have even reported going through major surgery due to Accutane treatment.  They may have needed parts of their rectum or colon removed.  The worst part is it can take years before any evidence of the severe side effects of taking Accutane show up and how severe the side effects are can vary greatly from one person to another.

Filing an Accutane Lawsuit

Many Accutane lawsuits have already been filed and settled.  There are even cases where millions of dollars have been awarded to those suffering from severe side effects caused by taking Accutane.  Even though these are rare it is important to file your lawsuit with an experienced attorney if you have been diagnosed with any of the severe side effects listed above.

Having a portion of your colon and/or rectum removed is a very serious surgery and has caused multiple lawsuits already.  Another cause for many of the Accutane lawsuits comes from pregnant women taking the drug. Since it has been linked to miscarriages and birth defects it is much worse for a pregnant woman to take.

If you or a loved one is suffering because of taking Accutane it is important to file your lawsuit as soon as possible.  It is not your fault you are experiencing side effects and you deserve to be compensated.

Simply fill out a quick and free evaluation form and you will be able to find out if you are eligible to file an Accutane Lawsuit.
